There have never been so many arms on this planet than today. European states bear a great share of responsibility for this situation. Weapons made in Europe are used to kill, harm and displace people around the globe. While people lose their lives, their health, their relatives and their homes in armed conflicts, arms-producing companies generate profits. The European arms industry is an opaque sector that violates laws, exerts influence on decision-makers and shirks responsibility.
The comic book Europes Deadly Trade: Arms Exports by GRIP and the Rosa-LuxemburgStiftung Brussels Office explains the European arms trade and the corruption that surrounds it, illustrates the consequences and offers insights into how to restrict, stop and resist it.
Join us for the presentation of the book and a panel discussion on the European arms trade with the books authors Benjamin Vokar (GRIP) and Philippe Sadzot, Niamh Ni Bhriain, Programme Coordinator War and Pacification at the Transnational Institute and Mattijs Van den Bussche, Campaigner at Vredesactie.
