Senior Policy & Advocacy Officer
Eurodad (the European Network on Debt and Development) is a network of 47 civil society organisations (CSOs) from 20 European countries. Eurodad works for transformative yet specific changes to global and European policies, institutions, rules and structures to ensure a democratically controlled, environmentally sustainable financial and economic system that works to eradicate poverty and ensure human rights for all.
About the position
The purpose of this role is to help ensure that Eurodads exciting work on improving the effectiveness of aid is based on robustly researched analysis, with a strong advocacy focus, and that Eurodad continues to build strong coalitions for change. The role involves strategy development, research, monitoring and analysing policy developments, information sharing, advocacy and networking. The successful candidate would work closely with Eurodads publicly-backed private finance team, to maximise synergies. The successful candidate will work at the cutting edge of development finance policy campaigns for transformative change. S/he will be responsible for advocacy, coalition building and research and will require policy analysis skills with strong interpersonal communication. S/he will be self-motivated with the ability to plan, organise and implement under on their her/his own initiative. S/he will have experience of working with advocacy focused civil society groups or similar organisations. S/he will need to speak and write English to a very high standard.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of Eurodads work areas and a passion for global social and economic justice. S/he will be an excellent written communicator. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, as is proficiency in French and/or German and/or Spanish or another major European language. The selected candidate will be creative, well organised and expected to work independently when required.
